Rain, Rain go away

It is already so dark out this morning thanks to the crazy storm rolling through the East Coast. Ironically, the US Open Golf Tournament is being held just outside of Philadelphia this weekend at the Merion Golf Course. Sadly, there will be no chance of practice or photos, etc. today as this storm  will be striking in short periods of serious rain and wind all day long.

I wore my tan London Fog rain trench into work today. It’s such a staple piece in my wardrobe. Double breasted, it’s easy to both dress up and dress down. I love the belt at the center to cinch the waist.

Even back when I lived and worked in NYC, this was my go to accessory on days like this. Some people find no need for a rain coat. They’ll simply grab an umbrella to pair with their usual day jacket. However, I figure why miss an opportunity to rock this classic look?! I’d love to really save up for the classic Burberry trench with their signature plaid pattern used in the interior lining. That purchase might just have to wait for some time in the distant future!

For anyone still looking for that perfect trench for rainy days, I’ve found some great options below. I’m loving the edgy look from Rag & Bone but the simple trench from Zara is also just such a great budget-conscious option as well. I may be a little biased though as both brands are two of my favorites : )
