So many fabulous ankle bootie trends to pick from this year! Most innovative of them all are the exposed ankle boots. When I first noticed these styles appearing everywhere, I thought, how counter-intuitive to wear a boot during the fall but expose some of your foot to the cold air & elements! However, what better time really than these fall months to layer on a pair of thick tights and some adorable ankle booties like this. I actually think it works well, and my favorite look of the 3 below is the Zigi Soho Bootie from DSW. The chunky heel and structured body are so chic for fall.

Boots with leather ankle straps are such a classic look. These styles seem to be extra popular this year – whether at an ankle, calf, or over the knee height. It’s just nice to add a simple detail like this for added style on a staple winter shoe. I’m basically in love with each of the boots below, but I’m surprised with how well the thin black leather ankle straps on the black suede bootie really dress up an otherwise casual winter shoe. Would love to wear those with a pair of black skinnies.
